Wear Rivers TrustThe Wear Rivers Trust - Working with volunteers, landowners, local authorities and businesess to improve, enhance and protect the wildlife within the Wear catchment. Contact Steve Hudson, Heart of Durham ProjectHeart of Durham will benefit a wide range of species and habitats, but the inspiration for the project was the small pearl-bordered fritillary butterfly, which is threatened with extinction in the DWT area. To save the small pearl we need to restore the landscape across a large area, a goal that will take many years to achieve.
