The Harehope Quarry Project
The Harehope Quarry Project aims to practically demonstrate a more sustainable way of living. This is being achieved by adopting a range of social, economic and environmental projects that together promote integrated and sustainable rural development. The project has developed and built an eco-classroom, provided permissive access to the nature reserve and is continuing to expand its smallholding.
We deliver environmental education, field studies, rural skills training and community arts projects on site as well as providing a focus for community development projects. The quarry provides a unique environment for study, relaxing, volunteering, community events and a meeting place with a difference.
